A life-changing clinic for mothers-to-be and families
The most innovative care, along with all the attention that this clientele requires, was given to expectant mothers with high-risk pregnancies, to mothers with physical or mental health issues and to their families.
Philanthropic contributions, such as the generous donation from The Rossy Foundation, have been instrumental in delivering the latest innovations in care right to those who need it most. These include:
- An expanded role for our nurse navigators: The restructuring of the MFM clinic has meant that some of the roles of existing staff members have been redefined, which has opened opportunities to add more nurse navigators to the team. The support they provide is more personalized and more effective, making it easier to deal with the issues encountered by these vulnerable patients and their families at any point of their journey.
- The Grande Ourse perinatal mental health project: The services provided through the Grande Ourse initiative complement the support received by mothers and families throughout a high-risk pregnancy and in the months afterward. This helps them to be better prepared to overcome various mental and social challenges as they transition to parenthood.
- The Ombrelles program: This is the first support program made available to expectant mothers hospitalized in relation to a high-risk pregnancy. The program was created to help improved their well-being and provide tools to cope with sudden upheavals in their lives and in their pregnancy plans. The program was adapted to an online format during the year.
If you only knew how much less nervous I am because of you! I’ll never be able to thank you enough for all your help and everything you’ve done for me during my pregnancy! Thank you for your dedication to your patients. The last part of my pregnancy has been a long-distance sprint, but I can finally see the finish line! Thank you, Sophie. Thank you for everything.
